I thought of creating this site after I found myself deluged with way too many recipes from all over the place. I have just returned to the United States after living in Venezuela for 13 years, and when I started opening the boxes of stuff I had left behind, it was like opening a time capsule, my very own time capsule.

I had kept stuff that fit my daughter when she was 18 month-old, now she’s 15. All of my kitchen stuff was there too, most of it intact. It was a great comfort to see that I didn’t have to buy everything new.

But what I also found was that I had saved hundreds of recipes, besides the ones in books that I either bought or were given to me by friends who knew about my love of cooking. Some several hundreds of these recipes were collected by Betty Metcalf, of Lewiston, Id., whom to the day I still call My American Mom.

Since I don’t have the space to save them all, and being a writer specialized on gastronomy and wines, it seemed to me I’d be committing an enormous crime against cooking and cooks, in general, if I didn’t share them with you.

So here they’ll be appearing under categories and please feel free to copy them, and send any comments on it. Remember you are the only one who can say when,
